“Cronus?!”

A chuckle emerged from the shivering sea-dweller. “’Ey doll…” He stood, dusting off the leather jacket he happened to be sporting today. “Fancy meeting you out here, kitten!” He winked, smirking and offering you a gloved hand. You took his hand, somewhat hesitant. You knew Cronus… as did almost every female on this Earth.

“Hello Cronus.” You chipped, standing yourself up with his help. You were just about to start walking away when you felt an all too familiar hand slip around your waist and you glared upwards, (e/c) orbs meeting white ones.

“C’mon doll-face…” He chuckled. You were regretting this chance encounter already. “Lemme get ya some coffee… an apology?” A puff of white steam escaped your nostrils with a huff. “What’s wrong?” He raised a thin eyebrow.

“Fine. Don’t pull anything funny, fish-boy.” You retorted sharply, removing his hand with another scoff and walking beside him resentfully. At least he blocked some of the snow. A wave of rejection practically radiated from the being beside you and with an eye-roll, you stepped closer to him, much to his surprise. You gave your own smirk, continuing to walk, taking long strides over small snow drifts that were forming quickly.

“Ah… “ You sighed softly at the heat of the corner café, the warm light enticing you in further. Removing you coat, you put it on the back of a chair at your table of choice. Closely followed by your new found ‘friend’ you walked up to a counter. “A mocha please… extra cinnamon.” Placing the order, you stood nonchalantly by the counter, waiting for Cronus to order his own and pay. “Geez… what am I doing?” You thought with another eye-roll as he grabbed your hand and led you back to the table.

“So… what brought you outta your ‘lil burrow, kitten?” He purred with his trademark smirk. Good GRIEF! The nerve of this guy! Why didn’t you leave him out there?!

“Don’t call me that.” You growled. He simply chuckled which only egged your anger on farther. You hoped he was thanking whatever god or gods he worshipped that the coffee arrived because you were this close to smacking the smirk right of his overly confident face. You snatched your drink off the tray, glaring daggers at the table as you slurped it.

“’Ey…” The troll across from you spoke hesitantly which frankly, caught you by surprise. “I’m… I’m sorry, ____” He spoke softly, poking his straw around in his own coffee. Stopping mid-sip, you lifted your eyes.

“What?”

“I said I’m sorry. I’ve been a real bloke and I seriously wanted to apologize.” He explained, voice trailing away. Surprise after surprise! You decided against the side of you telling you to send him on a wild chase and sent a small smile instead.

“It’s cool Cro.” You chirped, warming up suddenly. “You know… you still owe me though.” He looked up, face confused. “I need a way home and you make a nice snow shield.” You laughed. The confusion melted off his face, leaving a look of mock sarcasm.

“Haha… very funny.” He sighed, smirk reappearing, “I’ll get you back for that.” Both of the coffees slowly drained as the conversation continued, trailing around different topics like music and movies. The snow died away to a slow, lazy flurry as the two of you stood. “Lead the way, do-… I mean, _____.” He said, holding open the door. You smirked, stepping outside and pulling your jacket around you tightly. Suddenly, you felt his arm slip around you again, but this time you didn’t resent and felt a small pink blush cover your face and hoped that he thought it was from the cold.

“Thanks, Cro.” He just nodded slightly, seemingly deep in thought. You cleared your throat and continued walking, eventually reaching your porch. “Thanks again.” You said softly, turning the door knob slightly.

“Wait.”

You looked up and behind you, Cronus giving you a small smirk before running up the stairs and pulling you close to him. “Wait.” He repeated softly. He leaned in, pressing his smooth, cool lips against your own, slightly chapped ones. Just as quickly as it started, it ended with him pulling back and leaving you a flustered, blinking, and blushing mess.

“Told you I’d get you back.”
